The High Road Home

Last day on this horse thankfully. The wind was finally cooperating right up until we turned
away from the shade of the mountain and met a blistering, punishing, slapping, relentless
wind that froze whatever remaining limb fragment that had survived thus far. Invaded another
ger for lunch (I think we woke up the poor couple) and as always, were treated far friendlier
than we expected to be.
Off after lunch we expected and dreaded much the same. In the end it was still cold but
whether it was to short circuit the rest of the trail or a planned part of the trek, we
ascended one of the mountains and came down on the other side into a magnificent valley.
We would have taken lots more pictures of this but were too busy making sure our horses
didn't slip on the precipice for a freefall. Down the valley and back to where we started
a few days before. Nice and warm. Nothing doing tonight except eating and sleeping.
